Uhde High Pressure Technologies manufactures the largest LDPE plants in the world, but Uhde High Pressure Technologies is also capable to manufacture the smallest LDPE Plants in the world. These are pilot plants which can be used for polymer design and process studies like decomposition studies. The pilot plants made by Uhde High Pressure Technologies are located in universities and laboratories of the licensors around the world.
The Uhde scope of supply includes a turn key solution built up from the customer process data sheets. It includes the detail engineering of all vessels, heat exchangers, valves, compressor, pumps and piping as well as electrical and instrumentation. The control system can be added from the client or designed and implemented by Uhde. All components will be assembled on easy to install steel frames.
The main elements of a LDPE pilot plant are the following:
- compressor system for ethylene
- high pressure dosing pumps for accurate injection of initiator and other chemicals
- tubular or autoclave reactor with magnetic drive stirrer
- storage vessel (if necessary with stirrer)
- separators
- collecting vessels
- piping system with heat exchangers, valves, instruments and safety equipment
- control system with computer visualisation
- supplied in modular components for fast assembly and installation
- Explosion protection according to customers and local requirements
